Welcome to the home of the crossover fanfiction project Puella Magi Warhammer 40,000 Magica, or PMWH40KM for short (well, a given definition of "short"), run by MellowDrama. As the names imply, this is an alternate universe based on the characters of WH40K if they were Puella Magi Madoka Magica's magical girls. If you don't know about either of these franchises (owned by Games Workshop and Magica Quartet respectively), Mellow highly recommends you check them out. They're both awesome, and as a crossover between these two awesome things there will be spoilers for both Warhammer 40K and Puella Magi Madoka Magica on this website. Also, this website and PMWH40KM are a work in progress and things are definitely subject to change! Now, with that out of the way...
Magical girls are near-omnipresent in [City]. This place's high propensity for both contractees and witches made it a lawless and bloody area of territory for all of its known history...that is, until..
The Empress made her appearance. This magical girl of unparalleled strength quickly unified the magical girls of the city into a single fighting force, a period of change that veteran girls still look back on kindly to this day. The Empress herself had survived to adulthood, and knew that leaders with a fraction of her magical prowess would serve her magical empire well. Thusly, she had twenty daughters, all empowered by a strong wish.
Born with an extraordinary amount of karmic potential, each daughter grew to be a young woman and made her contract. Thusly, the Empress and her twenty daughters led the fight against witches, keeping malignant magic at bay.
However, these daughters of the Empress were not the paragons she had hoped them to be. Two of them have been erased from history for their failure, and half of the remaining number grew bitter over what their mother had done to them and their comrades. She had not told them what it truly meant to make a contract, and these empowered magical girls found themselves forced into this life by the wish granting all of them their strength. These nine rebels and their teams would split the city in half, working alongside witches in an attempt to defy their fate and their mother.
Among the rebels, all nine daughters have been destroyed, with six extraordinarily powerful witches now being their organization's best asset. As for the loyalist daughters, two were killed during the conflict, and the rest have been inactive until very recently.
